Many interesting events have taken place at Geiger & Loria Reporting Service since our founding in 1950. Please read through the timeline below to learn more.

1950 George Geiger founds Geiger Reporting Service. First freelance court reporting service in Harrisburg, PA.

1951 George Geiger wrestles armed defendant to floor during courtroom shootout, which kills one lawyer and wounds three others. Carnegie Medal awarded.

1971 Virginia Loria joins firm as equal partner. Geiger & Loria Reporting Service (GLRS) is established.

Late '70s GLRS integrates computer-aided transcription.

  GLRS is one of the first companies to offer videotaped expert testimony in the Harrisburg area.

1982 Retirement of George Geiger.

Early '80s GLRS installs litigation software programs, giving attorneys ability to search transcripts for keywords and phrases using computer technology.

1987 GLRS is first company in the country to offer satellite depositions to attorneys. Service brings the witness to the attorney, saving time and money.

1995 Realtime translation offered. This service allows attorneys to view testimony on laptop as testimony is taking place.

1996 GLRS staff provides realtime translation of all trial testimony for hearing impaired plaintiff.

1999 GLRS staff provides reporting services for the National Governors' Association 92nd Annual Meeting in State College, Pennsylvania.

2000 Sherry J. Bowes wins the first annual Pennsylvania Cup for Realtime.

2001 Affiliation with I-Dep which provides Internet deposition services.

2002 Sherry J. Bowes-Bryant places third in National Court Reporter Association speed contest and first in the second annual Pennsylvania Cup for Realtime.

2003 Affiliation with i2i Legal Network to provide Harrisburg videoconferencing suite as well as worldwide videoconferencing scheduling service.

2005 Sherry J. Bowes-Bryant places fifth in National Court Reporter Association realtime contest.

2006 Sherry J. Bowes-Bryant places sixth in National Court Reporter Association realtime contest and fourth in National Court Reporter Association speed contest.

Videoconferencing suite added to Harrisburg office.

2007 Sherry J. Bowes-Bryant places second in National Court Reporter Association speed contest.

2008 Video/audio streaming services added to Harrisburg office videoconference suite.
